animated genetics — privacy policy

effective october 17, 2026

Animated Genetics is a story app by Tule Fog Games, LLC, for iPhone and Android. it has no account and collects nothing that identifies you. if you leave "share anonymous usage" on, it sends us anonymous notes about how the story is played, so we can see where players get stuck. you can turn that off in settings at any time.

no genetic data

the app never asks for, reads or stores your own genetic data or test results. it has no way to upload them. the family in the story is fictional.

no account, no advertising, no tracking

there is no account or sign-in. the app contains no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics software, does not use your device's advertising identifier, and shares or sells nothing to anyone.

anonymous usage

while settings → share anonymous usage is on (it is on unless you turn it off), the app sends short notes to our own server at genetics.tulefoggames.com: that the app was opened, with the text size and whether reduced motion is on; which chapter was started or finished and which step of it was reached; how long each interactive step took, whether it was done by gesture or with the buttons, and how many tries it took; whether the Complete Edition offer was shown and whether a purchase or restore started, finished, was cancelled or failed; and whether the Family Album, the Study view or a recall session was opened.

each note carries a random ID made by the app on your device, plus the platform and the app version. that ID is not your device's ID and is not connected to your name, your Apple or Google account, or anything else about you.

never sent: your name, email or account, purchase receipts or payment details, your device model, language, time zone or location, any advertising or device identifier, or anything you type.

on our server we keep only the time each note arrived and the note itself. we do not keep your IP address or any other detail of the connection. notes are deleted after 90 days. we use them only to improve the app. we don't use them for advertising, don't combine them with other data, and don't share or sell them.

turning it off stops it at once and deletes, on your device, any notes not yet sent and the random ID; turning it on again makes a new one. because the notes on our server can't be traced to you, we can't find or delete one person's notes. all of them are deleted after 90 days.

what stays on your device

your place in the story, your Family Album of specimens and your settings are stored on your device only. we cannot see them, and deleting the app erases them.

purchases

Chapter I is free. the Complete Edition is a one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy; we never receive your payment details. to know whether you own the Complete Edition, the app asks the store on your device, and that exchange stays between your device and the store. after you unlock it, the narration for the later chapters downloads from the same store.

children

the app is not directed at children under 13. it collects nothing that identifies anyone, including children, and the anonymous usage notes can be turned off in settings.

changes

if this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. if the app ever starts collecting anything new, this policy and the store's privacy label will say so first.
